Accepting Proposals for the Washington Economic Development and Competitiveness Strategic Plan Development

From WA Department of Commerce

Proposals are now being accepted to develop a statewide economic development and competitiveness strategic plan that guides inclusive statewide economic growth over the next four years and beyond. This inclusive economic growth program will drive key metrics such as high-quality and high-wage jobs. The program will increase sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, the program is expected to increase business investment in Washington, leading to increased business sales and revenue, driving opportunities for the Legislature to invest back into state infrastructure and services for Washingtonians. Washington has a diverse, innovative and globally competitive economy supported by strengths in technology, advanced manufacturing, international trade, agriculture, clean energy and other strategic industries. Despite these advantages, the state faces a range of emerging economic challenges that underscore the need for a coordinated, forward-looking statewide economic development strategy.
