FY 2026 Mobile Payments Solution for SNAP Authorized Farmers – Cooperative Agreement
From US Department of Agriculture
The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA) plans to award the Mobile Payments Solution for SNAP Authorized Farmers cooperative agreement. Its purpose is to connect America's farmers to USDA nutrition assistance programs by enabling SNAP-authorized direct marketing farmers and farmers markets to determine whether adding SNAP to their business has positive cost-benefit value. The agreement aims to provide SNAP recipients with greater access to American agriculture, allowing them to use benefits at farmers markets, roadside stands, pick-your-own venues, or through eCommerce platforms. The cooperator will facilitate a shared vision and approach for supporting farmers and farmers markets to become SNAP authorized, enable EBT transaction processing via secure mobile applications or eCommerce platforms, and assist farmers with direct marketing opportunities to connect with SNAP households and other federal nutrition benefit recipients. The award totals up to $4,000,000 over three years for up to three cooperative agreements.
