FY26 Guidelines for Community-Wide Brownfield Assessment Grants

From US Environmental Protection Agency

The FY26 Guidelines for Brownfield Assessment Grants (Community-Wide Assessment Grants) provide funding to communities to assess brownfield sites, enabling them to identify and prioritize contaminated properties for cleanup and redevelopment. Assessment Grant funds may not be used to conduct cleanup activities. These grants support environmental site assessments, community outreach, and planning activities that contribute to the revitalization of underutilized properties, ultimately promoting environmental health, economic development, and community resilience. Community-wide Assessment Grants are appropriate for communities that are beginning to address their brownfield challenges, as well as for communities that have ongoing efforts to bring sites into productive reuse.
