Healthy Homes Production Grant Program

The Healthy Homes Production Program (HHP) is part of HUD’s Healthy Homes Initiative. The program takes a comprehensive approach to addressing multiple childhood diseases and injuries in the home by focusing on housing-related hazards in a coordinated fashion. It builds upon HUD’s successful Lead Hazard Control programs to expand efforts to address a variety of high-priority environmental health and safety hazards. Objectives include protecting vulnerable residents from hazards, identifying and remediating health and safety hazards in privately owned, low-income housing, promoting cost-effective healthy home methods, supporting public education and outreach, building local capacity to operate sustainable programs, integrating with rehabilitation and weatherization programs, building and enhancing partner resources, promoting collaboration and data sharing, and ensuring economic opportunities for low-income persons.

      Funded projects will be measured by the number of housing units assessed and remediated,
      residents protected from hazards, and evidence of cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
      Success will also be evaluated based on the quality of partnerships (including their efficiency,
      effectiveness, level of integration, and impact), leveraged resources, and compliance to the terms and conditions of the grant award.

      You cannot apply as an individual. Additionally, for-profit organizations or corporations, sole proprietorship organizations and 2024 Healthy Homes Production grant awardees are ineligible applicants. Faith-based organizations may apply just like any other organization.
