Opportunity Zones 2.0 Census Tract Designation Request For Applications
From WA Department of Commerce
Opportunity Zones (OZs) are federally designated tracts aimed at spurring investment in undercapitalized communities. The revised OZ program allows for the designation of new Opportunity Zones in 99 census tracts across Washington. Changes include permanent geographic criteria, incentive structures, reporting requirements, and reduced qualified tracts. Applications close May 28, 2026. Eligible tracts may be nominated, and final recommendations are submitted to the U.S. Treasury. The program aims to foster economic development and investment in targeted Washington communities.
