The State Component Of The National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program

From US Department of Interior

The STATEMAP component of the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program supports the generation of new 2D and 3D geologic map databases that are vital to the economic, social, or scientific welfare of individual States and the Nation. Supported mapping efforts guide resource discovery and hazard planning and help inform land use, infrastructure, and resource management decisions. Priority is set by state mapping committees based on regional needs, and programs must match federal funding 1:1.
