Clean Building Performance Grants

The Clean Buildings Performance Grants program offers competitive funding for energy efficiency improvements in both private and public buildings that are working toward complying with the Clean Buildings Performance Standard (CBPS). These grants aim to lower energy costs, reduce pollution and generate jobs throughout the state. These grants specifically support Tier 1 covered buildings as well as Tier 1 and Tier 2 covered public buildings.

    • Requirements

      Minimum qualifications for the applicant include:

      – Licensed to do business in Washington or submit a statement of commitment that it will become licensed in Washington within thirty (30) calendar days of being selected as the Apparently Successful Applicant.

      – Privately-owned, Tier 1 building pursuing compliance with the Clean Building Performance Standard (CBPS).

      – Publicly-owned, Tier 1 or Tier 2 building pursuing compliance with the CBPS. Publicly owned: local governments, municipalities, port and hospital districts, public

      higher education institutions, school districts, federally recognized Tribal governments

      and state agencies.

      – Applicant must either own the facilities proposed for the project, or hold a lease that extends beyond the time of the expected life of the proposed project.

      Minimum qualifications for the project include: All portions of the proposed project must be directly related to pursuing compliance with the CBPS.
