      Income qualifications apply: For new vehicles, modified adjusted gross income may not exceed $300,000 for married couples filing jointly or a surviving spouse; $225,000 for heads of households; $150,000 for all other filers. Alternatively, lease purchases are not income qualified. For used vehicles, adjusted gross income may not exceed $115,000 for married filing jointly or a surviving spouse; $112,500 for heads of households; $75,000 for all other filers.

    • Requirements

      The amount of credit varies with standards for battery components and mineral requirements. Visit fueleconomy.gov for a list of eligible vehicles. Used vehicles must have a sale price of $25,000 or less, be at least two years old, be less than 14,000 pounds, have a battery capacity of at least 7 kilowatt hours. The vehicle must be purchased from a dealer. More information about requirements and eligibility can be found at fueleconomy.gov.
