Used Clean Vehicle Credit

Beginning January 1, 2023, subject to income limitations, individuals who purchase a qualified used electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, may be eligible for a used clean vehicle tax credit. The credit equals 30% of the sale price up to a maximum credit of $4,000.

      Individuals purchasing a vehicle for their own use, and have a modified adjusted growth income not to exceed $150,000 for married filing jointly or a surviving spouse, $112,500 for head of households, $75,000 for all other filers.

      Vehicles must have a sale price of $25,000 or less, be at least two years old, be less than 14,000 points, have a battery capacity of at least 7 kilowatt hours. The vehicle must be purchased from a dealer. More information about requirements and eligibility can be found at fueleconomy.gov.
