Food and Agriculture Defense Initiative Extension Disaster Education Network (FADI-EDEN)

The FADI-EDEN program helps a national network of agricultural educators and experts protect the U.S. food and farming system from disasters. These disasters include severe weather, disease outbreaks, and cyberattacks. The program does this in two main ways: 1) Improving Disaster Response: It creates better plans to handle any type of emergency that threatens farming and food supplies. 2) Training Local Experts: It trains local university extension workers so they have the skills to teach and support farmers, families, youth, small businesses, and communities when a disaster hits. The program will support one extension project this funding cycle.
