Applications for Apple Health and Homes Project Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) Units

From WA Department of Commerce

This opportunity provides grant funding to eligible multi-family housing projects in the King and North Central Behavioral Health Regions (King, Okanogan, Chelan, Douglas and Grant counties) in Washington. The objective is to establish project-based permanent supportive housing units for eligible Apple Health and Homes (AHAH) program participants. Eligible projects must be owned by non-profit, not-for-profit, public, or tribal entities, and have awards from the Washington State Housing Trust Fund or similar public capital sources. Projects must serve individuals at or below 30% Area Median Income and meet specific referral and service provider choice requirements. Ineligible projects include assisted living facilities, boarding homes, shelters, transitional housing, group homes, low-income homebuyer loans, and certain licensed medical or care facilities. Applicant priority will consider geographic region, fund source, development stage, project type, and tribal/By-and-For organizations. Two applicant conferences are scheduled for September 10, 2025.
