      Applicants must be licensed to do business in Washington or commit to licensing within 30 calendar days if selected (tribal entities exempt). Applicants must be in good standing with all applicable laws and requirements, including the Department of Commerce. Priority for applicants ready to begin immediately, those showing GHG/effluent reduction and energy production, applicants with secured match and partnerships, and projects benefiting tribes, overburdened, or vulnerable populations.

      The dairy digester program provides grants for the repair, upgrades and the development of dairy digesters, including cover and flare projects.

    • Requirements

      Applicants will need to quantify reduction in the amount of greenhouse gases (GHG) and effluent as well as energy produced. The anaerobic digester must be primarily used for dairy biomass processing (at least 50% dairy), be located at or adjacent to an existing dairy, and be shovel-ready. Project must be completed within 24 months, cannot be a feasibility study, and must be located in Washington. Priority is given to applicants demonstrating readiness, secured match/partnerships, GHG reduction, and benefits to tribes, overburdened, and vulnerable communities.
