WCCN is creating a climate resilient Washington through enterprising service projects, community partnership, and investing in the next generation of environmental leaders. WCCN invests in service projects and service-learning opportunities for young adults (17-31), veterans (any age), and overburdened communities. These activities shall improve the climate resilience of Washington and professional development of the service participants.

    • Eligibility

      1. Must be an eligible organization or host site:
      a. Nonprofit organization
      b. Academic Institution (K-12, Collegiate, Technical, etc.)
      c. Special Purpose District
      d. Local Government Agencies (County, Municipality)
      e. Tribe or tribal organization
      f. Fiscally sponsored organization

      2. Must prioritize service by and for overburdened communities, though applications
      may request support for projects or sites of varied overburdened community ranking.
      a. WCCN values equity in every aspect of our work. This is represented in the
      service and funding we provide.
      b. WCCN encourages applicants to develop projects that are culturally
      responsive and partner with the communities served to implement a project.

      3. Must submit as part of their application budget the determination of the area as
      overburdened using the Overburdened Communities of Washington State map.
