Evaluate Solar Readiness for Multifamily Affordable Housing

From WA Department of Commerce Energy Division

Submit your proposal by May 27 for a portfolio analysis and detailed solar studies of multifamily properties. Commerce is accepting proposals to identify multifamily affordable housing properties that are good candidates for onsite solar installation using Solar for All funding. Solar systems and potential battery energy storage systems must be designed to deliver at least 20% savings to multifamily tenants. Analysis and designs are structured in two separate phases. Interested parties can respond to one or both phases. Commerce will work with one or multiple contractors to fulfill the scope of work. Respondents must have experience in data analysis and report production, solar and battery energy storage system design, and personnel with relevant certifications. Phase one: Remotely assess onsite solar potential of approximately 1,000 multifamily properties from data provided by Commerce’s Housing Division and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. Produce assessment reports detailing each property and identifying those best-suited for onsite solar installation based on Solar for All requirements. Phase two: Design solar systems that are compliant with applicable codes for each selected property. Design energy storage systems that support resilience and additional household savings for a subset of multifamily properties.
