Periodic Update Grants Available for 2027 Jurisdictions

From WA Department of Commerce

Counties and cities planning under the Growth Management Act (GMA) are required to complete periodic updates to their comprehensive plans and/or development regulations. Periodic update grants help cities and counties meet these requirements as outlined in RCW 36.70A.130(5). Funds are automatically available for eligible jurisdictions based on their periodic update schedules. Grants are awarded based on population and planning status, with awards ranging from $20,000 (cities partially planning) to $700,000 (counties fully planning, population 100,000+).
